Surroundings

Bosco dei Poveri can be the starting point to discover the amazing beauties of the Piacenza hills and mountains. Excursions, horse rides or mountain bike rides are ideal to enjoy nature, thanks to the extraordinary variety of landscapes from the river Po to the Apennines, through vineyards and hills.

Castles, old villages and cities of art are located at a short distance. Castles are numerous and often open to the public, and remind us of a past rich in history and culture. Piacenza is a Roman city at the intersection of the old Via Emilia and the Via Postumia. The medieval Via Francigena, the charming villages of  Castell'Arquato and Vigoleno, the Trebbia valley with its villages of Bobbio, Rivalta and Grazzano Visconti – one of the most popular tourist destinations in this area – are all worth a visit.
The village of Agazzano, located only 3 km from the farmhouse, boasts a medieval fortress and an 18 th century castle; there you will find all the main commodities that you may especially need if you are staying in the flats. Furthermore, in the surrounding area you will find a number of restaurants and eateries where you can enjoy the specialties of the Piacenza cuisine, which is now famous even outside its territory. We will be pleased to inform you about all the opportunities that our region offers: musical and cultural events, village fairs and markets, activities for children and adults, and much more
